Equipment

  • 1 Mandoline Slicer
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Muffin Tin or Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper if using baking sheet
  • 1 Sharp Knife
  • 1 Spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • apple sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ground cinnamon
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  • First, preheat your oven to 350℉.
  • Next, slice apples as thinly as possible. You can boil them in water for a few minutes if they are not already flimsy and bendable. I used a Mandoline slicer!
  • Place the thin apple slices in a large mixing bowl. Coat them with brown sugar and cinnamon and mix with your hands.
  • On a floured surface, roll out your puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
  • Using a sharp knife, slice 5 strips (longways) of the puff pastry.
  • Using a spoon, spread each puff pastry strip with a thin layer of apple sauce. Then line each strip with apple slices along the top half. Fold the strip over so your apple slices are securely nestled.
  • Grab one end of your strip and roll it into itself so you get a spherical pastry rose pattern.
  • Depending on the size of the roses, you can either put them in a muffin tin or on a regular baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Bake the pastry roses for 25-27 minutes in the oven.
  • Sprinkle some powdered sugar over them before serving and enjoy your bouquet!
