Maple Ginger Ale

A delicious digestive tonic, perfect to enjoy on the warmer months.

Equipment

  • heat proof jar + lid
  • Spoon for mixing

Ingredients

  • 2-3 inches fresh ginger root peeled and finely chopped
  • 3 cups water
  • ¼ cup maple syrup add more or less depending on sweetness preference!
  • fresh lime juice to top off
  • sparkling water to top off

Instructions

  •  Peel and finely chop your fresh ginger root. Add it to a small pot with 3 cups of water and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup until fully dissolved.
  • Strain the ginger mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a jar or pitcher. Let it cool slightly.
  • Fill a glass halfway with the ginger syrup mixture, then top the rest with sparkling water.
  • Add a generous squeeze of fresh lime juice, stir, and enjoy immediately.
