Ah, sweet traveler, come closer and warm yourself by the hearth. The air is rich with the scent of cinnamon and apples, a sure sign that something magical is baking. Tonight, I craft Warm Apple Pie Roses, delicate spirals of golden pastry wrapped around tender, spiced apple slices—each one a tiny blossom kissed by autumn’s enchantment. The orchard’s finest apples, gathered beneath the golden boughs, are simmered in a fragrant potion of honey and spice before being nestled into their flaky embrace. These are not just pastries, but edible petals of comfort, meant to be shared by candlelight with dear friends. So sit, take a bite, and let the sweet warmth of the season bloom upon your tongue.

These roses are wonderful any time of the year, but I especially love making them for significant others for Valentine's Day or to express my love. You cannot go wrong with these - day or night.
This was inspired by my Warm Rustic Apple Hand Pies and Apple Cabbage Stew recipes, and pairs well with some vanilla ice cream.

- large apples
- puff pastry sheet
- apple sauce
- brown sugar
- ground cinnamon
- powdered sugar
Instructions
Let the crafting commence!

- Thinly slice your apples. Coat in brown sugar and cinnamon.

- Cut 5 thin strips (longways) from your puff pastry sheet.

- Place your apple slices along the top half of your strip and fold the bottom half of dough over the apple slices.

- Roll one end of your strip into itself so you get a rose shape. Bake at 350F for 25-27 minutes and sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar before serving!
Hint: be sure your apple slices are as thin as can be! The thinner they are the easier they will be to roll into your roses!

Equipment
- 1 Mandoline Slicer
- 1 Large Mixing Bowl
- 1 Rolling Pin
- 1 Muffin Tin or Baking Sheet
- Parchment Paper if using baking sheet
- 1 Sharp Knife
- 1 Spoon
Ingredients
- 2 large apples
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- apple sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ground cinnamon
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to 350℉.
- Next, slice apples as thinly as possible. You can boil them in water for a few minutes if they are not already flimsy and bendable. I used a Mandoline slicer!
- Place the thin apple slices in a large mixing bowl. Coat them with brown sugar and cinnamon and mix with your hands.
- On a floured surface, roll out your puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
- Using a sharp knife, slice 5 strips (longways) of the puff pastry.
- Using a spoon, spread each puff pastry strip with a thin layer of apple sauce. Then line each strip with apple slices along the top half. Fold the strip over so your apple slices are securely nestled.
- Grab one end of your strip and roll it into itself so you get a spherical pastry rose pattern.
- Depending on the size of the roses, you can either put them in a muffin tin or on a regular baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Bake the pastry roses for 25-27 minutes in the oven.
- Sprinkle some powdered sugar over them before serving and enjoy your bouquet!
