Small Batch Garlic Herbed Mozzarella Stuffed Dinner Rolls

Ingredients

  • cup warm whole milk +1 tbsp
  • 4 tsp cane sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1.5 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp beaten egg
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • mozzarella cheese ½ tsp per roll
  • melted butter with thyme and minced garlic, to taste brush on afterwards

Instructions

  • Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Whisk well, then cover and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Whisk again, then gradually add flour.
  • Dump the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes. Shape into a ball, place in a greased bowl, and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Press the dough down, divide into four pieces, and fill each with mozzarella. Roll into balls and place in a pan. Let rest for 45 minutes.
  • Brush with egg wash and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Brush with melted butter, garlic, and thyme, then enjoy warm.
