Picture this:
You're wandering through an enchanted wood during midsummer. The sun is glistening along the supple leaves of the green trees, and bees are landing on the most beautiful wild flowers that are scattered across the forest floor. You become enamored by the delicious aroma of sweet peaches cooked with lavender, and realize the scent was coming from a cozy tavern nestled within a quiet grove.
That's what this recipe reminds me of: something magical, that could be found from your favorite cozy storybook. This flavor profile is simple, yet unique, with a delicious blend of seasonal peaches and lavender, which creates a beautiful, floral dessert. Topped with a sweet dough, this dish is perfect for a midsummer feast.
Although you can enjoy this dish year round, there's something special about crafting this recipe in the middle of summer, where peaches are abundant and the sun is shining bright outside. The floral notes of lavender remind us of everything in bloom during this time of year.
